A pig's body has a lot of different parts that give us different types of meat:
Ham (leg): At the back of the pig.
Loin: Top of the body, by the spine.
Butt (Shoulder): By the shoulder, near the head of the pig.
Picnic: By the top of the legs, under the butt
Belly: Biggest section of the pig, under the loin.
A pig about 250 lbs. can produce
15-20 lbs. of ham
60-70 pork chops
15-20 lbs. of pork steaks
two 6-7 lbs. roasts
15-20 lbs. of bacon
spare ribs and pork hocks
15-20 lbs. of sausage
